FAN THE FLAME
June 8th-12th 2008

The “Fan the Flame” Teaching Week involves five evenings of song, teaching, prayer and sacramental ministry and we will explore the basic Christian themes of Baptism, Grace, The Cross, Resurrection and the Eucharist.

The Co-ordinating Team has met on a number of occasions and plans are well underway for what we hope will be a very special week in the life of the Parish of Cranford.  We don’t want to give too much away at the moment but it is safe to say that it would be a very good idea to block these dates in your Diary.  Invitations and more details will be available in the next few weeks.

We will be joined for the whole time by two missioners who will help to lead us through our “Fan the Flame” Week and we look forward to welcoming them to Cranford.  Events during the week will be held at Holy Angels and St Dunstan’s, but a full programme with venue details will be available soon.

Our “Fan the Flame” prayer is here and we ask you to pray for our Parish in preparation for this special event in June.

Please also pray for Father Luke, and the two missioners

Fr Henry Pryse and Fr Timothy Rawdon-Mogg SSC who will be leading our Week.

If you do have any urgent questions about this project please address these to Father Luke, who can liaise with the Co-ordinating Team.

Heavenly Father

Bless and Guide the Co-ordinating Team of the ‘Fan The Flame’ Teaching Week for the Parish of Cranford.

Give them Confidence to Achieve the Goals set before them.

Bless All those involved and grant them Grace, Wisdom and Strength.

May they grasp all the opportunities available in the weeks ahead.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end.

AMEN

The “Fan the Flame” Teaching Week involves five evenings of song, teaching, prayer and sacramental ministry and we will explore the basic Christian themes of Baptism (our belonging to Christ), Grace (the free gifts of God’s love) The Cross (reconciliation), Resurrection (healing) and the Eucharist (thanksgiving).  The week will help us to focus on the basics of our faith in order that it may be rekindled in us.  Our own understanding of what we think our Christian faith means, in terms of beliefs and action, is going to be stretched!  This is “our” week and everyone is welcome and encouraged to take a full part in it.

We will be joined by two missioners, Fr Henry Pryse and Fr Timothy Rawdon-Mogg SSC, who will help to lead us through our “Fan the Flame” Week and we look forward to welcoming them to Cranford.
